What is CutGo?
CutGo is a browser extension for Chrome or Edge. It adds video-breakdown tools to web video. After you install it, you can use CutGo Timeline on the original page, or open CutGo Studio in the same extension. CutGo Timeline is the main way you use CutGo, but it is not the whole product.
CutGo Timeline is the professional timeline on the web video you are watching. Step frames, change speed, loop In/Out, capture stills (download and Still Library), export MP4 / GIF / M4A from In/Out, add markers, run Shot Detection, open scopes, and — with your own API key — run AI Image Analysis and generate a storyboard script. Embedded and floating are two ways to show that same timeline. It runs in a desktop browser, not inside mobile apps.
CutGo Studio in the extension is a fuller video-breakdown workspace in the same extension, closer to a traditional editing interface. It is not where Shot Detection, storyboards, or AI Image Analysis suddenly become available; Timeline supports those workflows too. Studio lays out the program monitor, waveform, full timeline, shot list, and Storyboard Desk together for more efficient deep organization. Continue with the current web video or import a local file. Browsing, analysis, and editing stay free; selected outputs are Pro.

It includes a program window, waveform, full timeline, a shot list, and Storyboard Desk — frame-accurate review, Shot Detection, storyboard, and export. On Storyboard Desk you can run AI Image Analysis and generate a storyboard script with your own API key. Entirely free, no sign-in. To break down original videos on the web (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, and others), use the CutGo browser extension.
CutGo is mainly a browser extension: use Timeline on the page for everyday work on web video; open Studio in the same extension when you want a fuller, more NLE-like workspace for deeper organization. If you do not want to install the extension and only work with local files on your computer, use the entirely free CutGo Studio on the web.
How do I install or update CutGo?
Install CutGo from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons. The browser keeps it updated.
Do I need to download a video first?
Not for web video. After CutGo is installed, use Timeline on the original page. Local files can be imported into Studio in the extension, or into CutGo Studio on the web. To break down original videos on the web (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, and others), use the CutGo browser extension.
Which video sites does CutGo support?
CutGo tries to add Timeline whenever a site plays video in the browser. YouTube, Vimeo, and Instagram use an embedded timeline; TikTok and similar pages use a floating timeline. Signed-in, encrypted, or site-limited videos may miss some features. It works on desktop web pages, not inside mobile apps.
Which browsers are supported?
Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are recommended. Video load, waveform, or export may be incomplete in Firefox and other browsers.
Does CutGo upload my video?
By default, no full video is uploaded. Breakdown, Shot Detection, and local projects run in the browser. AI frame analysis uses your own API key and talks only to the provider you choose.
What is the difference between trial and Pro?
Review, preview, BYOK AI frame analysis, and using Studio for review and analysis stay free. Copy, download, and MP4 / GIF / M4A output are Pro in the extension: 5/day each on-page, plus 5 lifetime uses each for sidebar delivery and extension Studio export. CutGo Studio on the web is entirely free, including export. Activation removes those extension output limits.
