This page covers the CutGo browser extension only. CutGo Timeline is the main everyday surface and already supports Shot Detection, storyboards, and AI Image Analysis. Open CutGo Studio in the extension when you want a fuller, more NLE-like workspace for deep organization. CutGo Studio on the web is separate: CutGo Studio on the web guide.
CutGo Browser Extension
Designed for analyzing video while it remains on the source page. CutGo Timeline works alongside the site player with Shot Detection, storyboards, and AI Image Analysis; the Side Panel keeps shots, stills, and markers organized.
CutGo Timeline
In / Out points
Set the start and end of a range at the current time. Use I / O to set them and Shift+I / Shift+O to return to them.
Range loop
Repeat the selected performance, action, edit point, or sound transition. Esc clears the range.
Focus range
Show only the selected range for finer navigation without trimming or deleting the source video.
Frame step
While paused, use comma / period to inspect adjacent frames. Precision depends on the site player.
Playback rate
J / L change speed in 0.1× steps, K restores 1×, and 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 select presets.
Markers
Add text and color at a timecode, then locate, drag, edit, or remove the marker.
Timeline zoom
Use + / − to change the visible time range. This is separate from zooming the video image.
Show / hide
Press ~ to temporarily collapse or restore CutGo Timeline.
Display modes and appearance
Embedded display
Places CutGo Timeline beside the adapted site player so it follows the page layout.
Floating display
Shows the timeline over the page and lets you drag it into position. Unsupported sites fall back to this mode.
Automatic choice
Auto prefers embedded display on adapted sites and floating display elsewhere. YouTube Shorts always uses floating display.
Dark / light appearance
Use the appearance button in the extension header. It changes CutGo only, not the website theme.
Remembered settings
The browser keeps your display mode, timeline visibility, and appearance choices.

Adapted websites
YouTube (excluding Shorts), Vimeo, Bilibili, Instagram, Xinpianchang, and TVCBOOK.
Other ordinary video sites
If CutGo can identify the page video, floating display usually remains available. Stills, waveform, and export support depend on site access restrictions.
Protected or unrecognized video
Signed-in playback, cross-origin media, DRM, live video, and custom players may limit features. CutGo reports the limitation instead of presenting a false success.

Scopes
Use luma waveform, RGB parade, or vectorscope to inspect exposure, channels, saturation, and color bias.
False color / monochrome
Inspect brightness bands, skin tones, highlights, shadows, contrast, and composition without modifying the source.
Inspect
Magnify the image to check focus, noise, makeup, continuity errors, and other details.
Picture in Picture
Keep the video visible in a system window while switching tabs or applications.
Detached scopes
Move scopes into a separate window for dual-screen or larger monitoring setups.
Shot Detection
Full video / selected range
Find shot boundaries automatically. With In and Out points set, you can analyze only that range.
Sensitivity and re-detect
Higher sensitivity finds subtler changes but may add more cuts. Change it and run detection again when needed.
Shot list and Shot Strip
Browse representative frames and jump to their times; use the Shot Strip to inspect cuts, duration, and pacing.
Correct boundaries
Add, move, hide, or remove cuts and loop one shot to verify its edges.
Local processing
Browser detection is primarily local and does not upload the entire video just to detect cuts.
CutGo Side Panel
Open it
Click the CutGo toolbar icon. The header shows the current video, refresh controls, and additional actions.
Shots
Browse detection results, jump to the source time, select shots, and open or download a Storyboard Page.
Stills
Browse saved frames, return to their timecodes, view larger, move previous / next, add AI notes, or remove them.
Batch still actions
Multi-select, select all, clear, batch download, or combine selected frames into a Stills Stack.
Contact Sheet
Preview selected frames in a grid and verify image order and notes before export.
Markers
Browse timeline markers, jump by timecode, and edit text, color, or AI-assisted notes.
Open Studio
Bring the current page video into CutGo Studio or open the local-video Studio.
Free / Pro
Browsing, navigation, notes, and previews are free. Side Panel downloads, batch stills, Contact Sheets, Stills Stacks, and Storyboard Pages share five lifetime trial exports.
Still library and file exports
Still library
Save the current frame, browse thumbnails, navigate, annotate, color-code, reorder, and remove stills. Saving and organizing are free.
Stills Stack
Combine selected frames in order into one vertical image for chat, review, and quick sharing.
Contact Sheet / Storyboard Page
A Contact Sheet gives a grid overview. A Storyboard Page is an HTML document with shots, notes, and source time links.
Current frame
Copy it to the clipboard or download an image. Both are Pro outputs.
Web video export
Use In and Out points to export MP4, GIF, or M4A. The current page export panel does not offer WebM.
Trial allowance
On-page frame copy, frame download, MP4, GIF, M4A, and Stills Stack each allow five uses per day. Side Panel outputs share five lifetime uses.
AI visual analysis
Purpose
Generate descriptions, shot information, tags, or supporting notes from the current frame or storyboard images.
Bring your own API key
Choose a provider in Settings and enter your own key. Requests and provider charges are handled by that provider.
Test and privacy
Test the key and model first. Analysis sends the selected image and prompt to the chosen provider, so use only authorized content.
CutGo Cloud AI
Not available at launch; its entries are hidden. Without your own key, CutGo clearly directs you to Settings.

Shot Detection, storyboards, and AI Image Analysis already available through Timeline remain available here, arranged with the program monitor, waveform, full timeline, shot list, and Storyboard Desk for deeper organization.
Two Studio workflows
Current web video
Bring the video you are watching into a full-screen Studio on the same page, then close it to return. Site sign-in, cross-origin, and DRM restrictions still apply.
Local video in a new tab
Use the extension to open a new tab and import a file from your computer for fuller waveform, organization, and export support.
Which one to use
CutGo is mainly a browser extension: use Timeline on the page for everyday work on web video; open Studio in the same extension when you want the program monitor, waveform, full timeline, shot list, and Storyboard Desk arranged together for deeper organization. If you do not want to install the extension and only work with local files on your computer, use the entirely free CutGo Studio on the web. Choose current web video in the extension when researching online material. Choose a local file for your own media, more reliable access, or a complete export workflow.
CutGo Studio on the web
CutGo Studio on the web, which you can open without installing the extension, is documented at the Studio on the web guide. It only imports local files and is entirely free. To break down original videos on the web (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, and others), use the CutGo browser extension.
Local processing and autosave
Media is primarily processed locally and project progress is saved in the current browser. Export important work before clearing browser data.

Timeline is for close viewing and navigation; Storyboard Desk organizes shot information and delivery structure.

Export video ranges as MP4 or GIF. Supported Studio audio extraction uses MP3. WebM is not a current public video export format.
Stills
Export the current frame or still ranges as JPG, plus Stills Stacks, Contact Sheets, and Storyboard Pages.
Free / Pro
Opening, importing, browsing, and editing are free. Studio Pro outputs share five lifetime trial exports; Pro removes that limit.

When focus is in search, notes, or another text field, some single-key commands yield to text entry.
